ExWeb is reporting that Italian skier Michele Fait fell to his death on the slopes of K2 yesterday morning. Fait was skiing down from Camp Two to the south-southeast ridge with his Swedish climbing partner Fredrik Ericsson. After the fall, Ericsson and world-class climbing guide Fabrizio Zangrilli, leader of the first commercial expedition up the mountain, attempted to recover Faits body but high avalanche danger postponed the effort.
